The Green Points, according to the new National Waste Management Plan, are now one of the key elements of the waste management system at local level, where users, mainly citizens/public, will be able to deliver useful materials such as paper/cardboard, glass and metal packaging, edible fats and oils in an organised and safe manner, bulky materials, green waste, electrical and electronic equipment, etc. Today they form an important part of the recycling systems implemented in many European Union (EU) countries and around the world.
